A battery replacement is one of the quickest and most straightforward repairs we do. If you’re ready to book or just want to understand the process before committing, here’s exactly what to expect — from your first message through to walking out with a laptop that holds a full charge again.

Step by step — how the repair works
1. Get in touch and share the details
Reach us by phone, text, or via the contact form on our website. The form is our preferred starting point — it captures your device details upfront. For battery replacements, a quick description of the issue — whether it’s no longer holding charge, it’s swollen, or you’re seeing a warning message — is usually all we need to provide a quote.
2. Receive your quote and book an appointment
Battery replacements are one of the more predictable repairs we do, so we can usually provide a quote based on your make and model before you come in. Labour is $109 inc GST for laptops, with the replacement battery quoted separately. We’re appointment-only, so once you’re happy with the quote we’ll lock in a time that suits you.
3. Drop off your laptop
At drop-off, we’ll confirm the issue and run through the expected timeline. Please bring your charger or power adapter. We work through jobs in order — you’ll leave knowing exactly what’s happening and when to expect it back.
4. The battery is replaced and tested
We source a compatible replacement battery matched to your exact make and model. The old battery is removed, the new one is fitted, and the laptop is tested to confirm it’s charging correctly and performing as expected.

5. We let you know it’s ready
Once the repair is complete, we’ll contact you via your preferred method — phone, text, or email. Your Xero tax invoice will be sent through with the option to pay online by card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or direct deposit.
6. Collect your laptop
Come in at a time that suits you. We’ll confirm you’re happy with everything before you leave. EFTPOS and cash are also available on collection.
What to bring to your appointment
- Your laptop
- Your charger or power adapter
- Your Windows PIN — we may need to run a system check after the new battery is fitted
How long will it take?
Most battery replacements are completed same-day. Batteries for the majority of major laptop brands are readily available, and we’ll confirm the exact timeframe at the time of booking.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we’re appointment-only. It keeps things organised and means your job is ready to be worked on when you arrive. Booking is quick — phone, text, or the contact form on the website.
Will you start the repair before I approve the cost?
Never. The full cost — labour and the replacement battery — is confirmed with you before any work begins. You decide whether to go ahead before anything is ordered or touched.
Will my data be safe?
A battery replacement doesn’t affect your data at all. It’s a hardware-only job. That said, keeping a current backup before any repair is always a sensible habit.
What payment options are available?
You can pay online via the invoice by card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or direct deposit — or by EFTPOS or cash when you come in to collect.
Can I use my laptop while waiting for the appointment?
In most cases yes. If your battery is swollen, we’d recommend getting it in reasonably promptly — but we’ll advise you on this when you get in touch.
